Terms of use

The rules for using the site, your account, monitors and the API.

Last updated 25 October 2026

Using the site

You can read every status page without an account. By using NetOutages you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens through it. You can delete your account at any time from the account page, which deletes everything that belongs to it.

Websites you monitor

When you add a website, our servers request it on a schedule you choose, as often as every minute. Only add websites you own or have permission to check.

  • An account can monitor up to 10 websites.
  • We refuse addresses on private networks, with credentials in them or on unusual ports. Do not try to get around those checks.
  • We may stop checking a website, or close an account, if a monitor is used to put load on a site or to probe it.

Reports

Report a problem only if you really have it. Do not send reports in bulk, with scripts, or from many addresses to make a service look broken or healthy. We may ignore or delete reports, and block abuse.

Alerts

Alerts are sent on a best-effort basis. A check can be wrong, an alert can be late or fail to arrive, and the service you point it at can be unavailable. Do not rely on NetOutages as the only way to learn that something critical is down.

The public API

The read-only API is free to use within its limits (300 requests a minute per address) and is described on the developers page. Do not try to get around the limits. We may block addresses that put heavy load on the service.

No guarantee

NetOutages is provided as it is. Statuses, response times, uptime figures and locations are our own measurements and may be wrong or out of date. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses that come from using or being unable to use the service, or from relying on what it shows.

Changes and ending

We may change the service or these terms. When we change the terms in a way that matters, the date at the top of this page changes with them. You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend access for abuse or to protect the service.

Questions

The privacy page describes what we store about you.
